Mandarin Oriental, Ala Moana HI Overview 

In recent years we have seen a healthy influx of condo-hotel inventory being brought to the Honolulu Market. The Mandarin Oriental will join Trump Tower and Ritz Carlton Residences; the tips of the spear in the luxury condo-hotel market. Developers are surely sensing a demand from Honolulu's foreign luxury buyer market, keen on purchasing Hawaii luxury property, but occupying them only a few weeks out of the year. Condo-tels offer a unique type of ownership as they allow for an owner to place the home in the "hotel rental pool," providing owners a share of the rental income which offsets ownership costs. Information as to whether owners will be able to operate their luxury residences as vacation rentals isn't available quite yet.
