Located at 229 Paoakalani Avenue, Waikiki Sunset is a 38-story "condotel" housing 435 1- and 2-bedroom unit configurations. Situated on the Eastern side of Waikiki, guests of Waikiki Sunset are gifted gorgeous varying views of Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, and the Pacific Ocean. This means that guests have quicker access to Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, and the Honolulu Zoo than other Waikiki condotels, while simultaneously still being located within short walking distance of Waikiki Beach, Kalakaua Avenue shopping, and the variety of restaurants, cafés, and experiences around Waikiki.
Waikiki Sunset is also one of the few Waikiki condos that allows owners to operate legal Honolulu vacation rentals.
The Neighborhood
Sitting near the Eastern border of the main portion of Waikiki, the Waikiki Sunset is within close proximity of establishments like the Honolulu Zoo and Kapi'olani Regional Park a bit further East. These spots are great family-friendly locations for a day spent outdoors, with the zoo holding hundreds of animals throughout many exhibits (including a keiki zoo and petting zoo) and Kapi'olani Regional Park hosting large open grassy spaces for picnics and enjoying the Hawaiian sun away from Waikiki crowds.
For those interested in visiting Waikiki's beaches, though, this can be achieved by simply walking down to Kalakaua Avenue. Guests of Waikiki Sunset will then have access to Kuhio Beach and the famous Waikiki Beach, both of which are excellent places for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and relaxing. Not to mention, countless restaurants and concession stands are stationed throughout the properties, which provide easy food and drinks to people who may get hungry or thirsty while visiting these beaches.
Walking along Kalakaua Avenue will also provide you with endless shopping opportunities, as the street is famously lined with hundreds of stores from designer, fast-fashion, and local brands as well as more restaurants and cafés. This street will even take you all the way up to the Midtown Ala Moana area by car, which hosts many more amazing restaurants and, perhaps most notably, the Ala Moana Center- the largest open-air shopping center in the world. Across the street from this center is Ala Moana Beach Park, which is another park perfect for spending time outdoors either on the grassy field, on the tennis and volleyball courts, or on the beach.
